1st Week
CSA delivery for the 1st week
                                         included tender green onions,
                                          radishes, new red potatoes,
                                          kale, and lettuce mix.  Portions
                                          were smaller than we had
                                          expected due to the cooler
                                          weather we have been
                                          experiencing this Spring. As
                                          the weather continues to
                                          improve, so does the
                                          productivity of the crops.

Here at our home, we enjoy the youngest and most tender vegetables
that come from our fields. We process your vegetables in your box as
little as possible to ensure proper shelf life. We most likely will not
trim the roots from onion, radishes, etc., because once you cut into
the vegetable then it will start to deteriorate. Please keep in mind,
your produce come straight from the field and does not go through
commercial washing and grading system. Farm fresh vegetables do
not usually look like the vegetables on store shelves.

Your vegetables have only been harvested a few hours when you
receive them at your chosen place and time. If you do not pick up on
time, Jones Family Farm cannot be held responsible for how your box
was handled.
TIPS AND IDEAS FOR COOKING YOUR VEGETABLES

New Red Potatoes: small potatoes are wonderful addition to any type of beans, greens, or just
cooked by themselves. Bigger potatoes are great for boiling and making homemade mashed
potatoes.

Green onions: mix with potatoes, add to salads, add to stews, stir fry with potatoes and other
vegetables,

Radishes: add to salads, put them in a bowl of cooler water in the refrigerator to snack on (helps
take some of the heat away)

Kale: may be used in salads, or cooked down like greens

Salad Mix: wash well and put on a plate, add your favorite additions to make a refreshing salad.

PLEASE REFRIGERATE YOUR VEGETABLES IMMEDIATELY UPON RECEIPT. WASH YOUR
VEGETABLES VERY WELL FOR SAND AND DIRT. ENJOY!!
